About this service
Sound Annuities provides written analysis of annuity contracts owned by the client. The analysis is educational in nature and is delivered with a recommendation produced by a licensed advisor at Pinnacle Advisors. The recommendation is one of: hold, 1035-exchange, surrender, or annuitize.
Licensure and signoff
Every paid appraisal is reviewed and signed by an advisor at Pinnacle Advisors who holds the Series 65 investment adviser representative registration and applicable state insurance licenses. The advisor's name and license credentials appear on the report.
Compensation
Sound Annuities does not sell annuity products and earns no commissions from insurance carriers on the sale of annuities. Compensation is a flat fee paid by the client (Sound Annuities) or paid by The Pinnacle Group on behalf of clients of partner advisory firms (AnnuitySecondOpinion).
Related-party arrangement
Sound Annuities and AnnuitySecondOpinion are two branded surfaces operated by the same production team. The Pinnacle Group is the licensed advisory affiliate that reviews and signs each appraisal. The production team pays The Pinnacle Group a per-appraisal fee on Sound Annuities' paid tiers; The Pinnacle Group pays the production team a per-appraisal fee on AnnuitySecondOpinion appraisals it sponsors. These cross-payments are disclosed in Form ADV Part 2A item 14 and do not depend on the recommendation produced.
